RRC Western Railway Sports Quota 2026: 64 Vacancies, No Written Exam

RRC Western Railway has released 64 vacancies under the Sports Quota and the most important part is, there’s no written exam. Selection is based entirely on your sports achievement and trial performance.

There are 64 posts in total — 21 posts under Level 5/4 and Level 3/2 (Group C), and 43 posts under Level 1 (erstwhile Group D). And this time, both male and female candidates can apply.

The list of sports is quite wide — it includes Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Body Building, Cricket, Cycling, Diving, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Handball, Kho-Kho, Powerlifting, Swimming, Volleyball, Water Polo, Weightlifting, Wrestling, and Ball Badminton. Now let’s talk about who’s eligible:

Age: You need to be between 18 and 25 years old as on 1 January 2027. That means candidates born between 1 January 2002 and 1 January 2009 can apply.

Sports Achievement: Your achievement needs to be from a recognized event, and the date matters only achievements from 1 April 2024 up to the date of the notification, which is 27 August 2026, will be considered. If your medal is older than that, it won’t count.

Application Fee: It’s ₹500 for general candidates (₹400 of that is refundable), and ₹250 for SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, PwD, Women, Minority, and EBC candidates fully refundable if you’re found eligible and appear for the trial.
