The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) has announced the 2026–27 competition calendar. The calendar was released last month, and now the selection trials have also started for many sports.
Along with the CBSE Games, this is one of the biggest opportunities for school athletes. The CBSE Games have already been conducted in some sports, so if you couldn’t participate or missed the chance to compete there, don’t worry.
Now you have another great opportunity to showcase your talent through the SGFI Games and compete against the best school athletes from across India.
If you want to participate, you have to register through your school. Individual entries are not allowed. Your school will complete the registration process, and after selection, you will be eligible to compete in the SGFI Games.
The registration process is very simple. Just contact your school’s sports teacher or physical education department, and they will guide you through the registration process.
In this video, I have also shared the download link for the complete SGFI 2026–27 competition schedule, so you can check the dates for your sport and prepare accordingly.
These games are important not only because you get the opportunity to compete at the national level, but also because the SGFI certificate can help you in many ways. It can support scholarship applications, admissions under the sports category, participation in higher-level district and national competitions, and it is also valuable for sports quota recruitments in the future.
The trials for some sports have already started, while the trials for many other sports will begin in the coming days.
So don’t miss this opportunity. Contact your school, complete your registration, and represent your school in the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) 2026–27.
