India’s Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain has received a bye in the women’s 75kg category, which means she has directly qualified for the semi-finals. As a result, she has already assured India of at least a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
Lovlina will play her first bout on 31 July against T.K.B.P. Taafaki, with a place in the gold medal match at stake.
We all know what Lovlina is capable of when she is fully fit, and we hope she brings gold home for India.
Boxing is expected to be India’s strongest sport at the Commonwealth Games 2026, and fans are hoping for 10–12 medals from the boxing contingent.
