What Sports Achievements Are Considered?
The notification follows a preference order for meritorious sportspersons. The highest preference is given to candidates who have represented India in an international competition with the clearance of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Other categories include sportspersons who have represented their State/UT at recognised national championships or National Games and secured positions up to third place, followed by eligible achievements at Inter-University competitions, Khelo India events and school-level national competitions.
This means athletes should carefully check whether their competition and sports certificates meet the recruitment requirements before applying.
Important: Check Your Sports Certificates
The department has specified the authorities whose certificates will be accepted as evidence of sports participation and achievement.
Depending on the competition, certificates may need to be issued by the concerned National Federation, State Association, University, State Education/Sports authority or Sports Authority of India, as applicable.
Candidates should also note that sports achievements obtained after 10 August 2026, the date of the notification, will not be considered for this recruitment.

How to Apply?
Eligible candidates have to submit their applications online. The notification directs candidates to carefully read the recruitment instructions and upload all required documents along with the application.
