The U.P. Athletics Association (affiliated to the Athletics Federation of India) has officially announced the 29th U.P. State Senior Athletics Championship 2026, and it’s more than just another state meet it’s the direct gateway to the 65th National Open Athletics Championship 2026 in New Delhi.

Women

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)
- Age requirement: You must have attained 18 years of age as on 8th October 2026. In simple terms, you should have been born on or before 8th October 2008.
- Registration: Only affiliated units of the U.P. Athletics Association (UPAA) and registered athletes are allowed to enter. If your district or club isn’t affiliated, you won’t be able to participate.
- No walk-ins: On-spot entries will not be accepted under any circumstances — you must be registered and entered online in advance.
How to Apply — Step by Step
- Check your unit’s affiliation. Only affiliated District Athletics Associations / Units of UPAA can nominate athletes.
- Log in to the official AFI portal at www.indianathletics.in using your unit’s existing User ID and Password (already issued to affiliated units).
- Enter athletes online. Each affiliated unit can enter a maximum of 6 athletes per event.
- Pay the entry fee online — ₹500 per event, per athlete, as per AFI guidelines.
- Submit before the deadline: All entries must be completed by 11:59 PM, 21st September 2026. No extensions, no exceptions.
This isn’t just a standalone state event. Athletes who qualify here will go on to represent Uttar Pradesh at the 65th National Open Senior Athletics Championship 2026, scheduled for 8th–10th October 2026 in New Delhi. Selection for the national squad will be made by the U.P. Athletics Association through its own selection process. In other words, a strong performance in Bareilly could put you on the national stage within weeks.
