The Indian Women’s Hockey Team has booked their place in the final of the Hockey World Cup Qualifiers after a hard-fought 1–0 victory against Italy. With this win, India has also officially qualified for the Hockey World Cup, which is a huge moment for the team.
The semifinal match against Italy was full of intensity from the very beginning. Both teams started the game with strong energy and created multiple chances in the first half. However, despite several attacking moves and opportunities from both sides, neither team managed to score in the first half, and the score remained 0–0.
The match continued to be tight in the third quarter as well. But in the 40th minute of the game, India finally broke the deadlock.
India earned back-to-back penalty corners, putting pressure on the Italian defence. This time, the Indian team made no mistake. Manisha Chauhan stepped up and found the back of the net, giving India a crucial lead with a well-taken goal.
