Indian Army Talent Scouting Programme 2026 | Eligibility, Sports, Trials & Registration

The Indian Army has started a Talent Scouting Programme across the country to identify young sporting talent, where talented children between 8 and 16 years of age will be scouted and given an opportunity to train.

But now the question is, what is the eligibility for selection in this programme? Which sports are covered, what will happen during the trials, and when can registration start?

First, let’s talk about eligibility.

In the Army Boys Sports Company, generally boys between 8 and 16 years of age are trained for sporting excellence. But there is one important point here. If you have won a State or National-level medal, your performance can be directly considered, subject to age verification and medical fitness.

But what if you don’t have a medal?

No problem! Because athletes who have won medals at the District level, participated in State-level competitions, or shown raw sporting talent can also be identified through the selection process. This means that even if you do not have a medal, you can still have a chance of selection based on your sporting talent and performance.

Now, let’s talk about the sports.

This scheme covers a total of 18 disciplines, including Athletics, Archery, Boxing, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Swimming, Shooting, Basketball and Gymnastics, among others.

When will registration start?

The Indian Army has not yet announced an official registration notification for this. As soon as registration starts or an official notification is released, I will be the first to update you
