India’s Olympic and World Champion Sumit Antil once again showed his dominance in the F64 javelin throw category by winning the gold medal at the Delhi Athletics Grand Prix 2026.
Sumit Antil registered a strong throw of 69.25 metres to finish at the top of the podium. What made this victory even more special was the huge gap between him and the rest of the field.
India’s Pushpendra Singh secured the silver medal with a throw of 56.91 metres, while Poonam Ram finished third with a throw of 49.48 metres.
The difference clearly shows the level of dominance Sumit Antil has achieved in the F64 category. Over the last few years, he has consistently performed at the highest level and established himself as one of the most dominant para-athletes in the world.
Sumit Antil is already a back-to-back Paralympic gold medalist, winning gold at the 2020 Summer Paralympics and again defending his title at the 2024 Summer Paralympics.
With the way he is performing, he is now seen as one of the strongest contenders to win another gold at the 2028 Summer Paralympics. If that happens, Sumit Antil could create history by completing a Paralympic gold medal hat-trick.
Many experts already believe that he is on the path to becoming India’s greatest para javelin thrower in history.
